Option 1: Make your way to the Ramada in Gloucester, our nominated base of operations. It costs around £69 (per room, per night) which is a great deal, so book online today! The bus leaves the Ramada at 1.30 pm sharp, which gives you plenty of time to check in. The hotel is only a short, £8 taxi ride from Gloucester train station, which is in turn 2 hours from London Paddington and 50 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads respectively. If arriving plane, best fly into Bristol then catch a train (visit thetrainline.co.uk to book). Via Eurostar its a simple case of changing stations in London. If travelling by ferry, Holyhead has a rail link that takes you straight down through the welsh valleys in about 2 hours, and its approximately 4 hours by car.
Option 2: If you fancy staying at a local B&B closer to Avening, you will find plenty of options here. If these lists don't suffice, even more information can be found here. Its the best way to soak up the countryside, and some of them are very good indeed! Avening is about an hours drive from Bristol and 2-4 hours from London, depending on traffic. Please note that the RAF are kindly staging a Tattoo at Fairford, so expect plenty of jets (and traffic around Cirencester).
